The True Essence of Christmas

          


          

          To me Christmas means a time of happiness towards everyone. It is a time when families and close friends come home from all over the world to be with the people they love. To most people family and friends come first in their lives, so this is obviously a very favored holiday.

          When it’s Christmas time, people exchange gifts often and take it for granted. This holiday is usually associated with receiving gifts. Personally, I think giving a gift is just as great as receiving one. Most of the time giving can be even more enjoyable. The whole idea of finding that perfect gift, making someone smile, and him or her realizing that you put that much thought into just one gift is just one way which Christmas brings happiness to everyone.

          They imagine seeing snow-covered houses lit up all along the street with their bright lights one trying to outdo another, and a large, fresh pine tree in their living room window covered with lights and bulbs with an angel perched onto the very top. When they come in the kitchen they smell the contagious aroma of their mother’s cookies baking. That is an example of a typical outlook on a normal Christmas. To me it’s not Christmas without the decorations or festive Christmas treats.

          Christmas time is my favorite time of year. I love when it’s time to shop for all those Christmas gifts for everyone. I love the red and green decorations, and my beautifully decorated Christmas tree sitting in my living room and the great music. But most of all, I love this time of year because I get the chance to be with my family and friends while I enjoy everyone’s Christmas cheer during this wonderful time of year. And Christmas is also togetherness. Being with the people you love,laughing, sharing a meal, and sharing happy memories. :)

Climate Change

         The world now faces one of the most complex and important issues it has ever had to deal with: climate change.  Though this was once an issue that would draw much argument and strife about its creditability, most of the world’s nations can no longer deny that it is a real issue. Climate includes patterns of temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind and seasons. "Climate change" affects more than just a change in the weather; it refers to seasonal changes over a long period of time. These climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them. Because so many systems are tied to climate, a change in climate can affect many related aspects of where and how people, plants and animals live, such as food production, availability and use of water, and health risks.

There are so many factories that exhale really destructive substances and pollute the air. We all know very well that air is something we can’t live without. When we breathe the polluted air, we can easily get cancer in our lungs. So we must wear mask if we are in the polluted air so that we can avoid lung cancer.  We cannot escape from the polluted air-it’s everywhere, even in our homes and we are breathing it non-stop. This can cause cancer and other serious diseases.And even the sunlight, when you stay long under the sun it can cause sunburn, and it will destroy your skin. So avoid stay long under the sun.

As a conclusion, our president or all the officials in our country should prioritize combating climate change over reducing poverty. Of course, poverty is a big issue, which needs a solution to the poor people who dies. Why are they dying? It’s because the climate doesn't allow them to grow food and they can’t afford to buy it from other countries. The climate is a very important thing and if we don’t stop the changes soon, more and more plants and trees are going to die, we won’t have enough food and then not only will the third world countries suffer from hunger but so will the whole world. I think it is better to first stop the changes in climate and then gradually reduce the hunger in the poor countries. Because if we stop the changes, we are going to be healthier and everything around us will be cleaner and it will be how it actually should be. I believe harmony between nature and human beings will return.

National Reading Month Celebration 2014

Outpouring Hearts and Mind through English Proficiency and Literacy

We all know that English is our universal language. It is used almost all over the world so we must learn it for our future plans in life. Reading is one of the most important ways for us to learn. They said if you read you can travel through your imagination. You can extend your knowledge by meeting those unfamiliar words and while reading you’re already developing yourself to become an effective speaker and writer and most important is for every story, for every title and for every page of a book there is a hidden message and lessons for us to apply in our lives.

Why do we need to study English language? If we know how to speak English we will be able to express ourselves without having anyone to judge us because we know that they can easily understand us. We will not be afraid to talk to the foreigners anymore because we are confident that whenever we wanted to start a conversation with them they’ll understand us and there will no longer a miss understanding between us and in the future you might use this in your job because some companies, corporation or any other organization prefer to use English language. It is indeed a very powerful language that we should treasure forever.

There’s a lot of importance in learning literacy and English proficiency. To be a good speaker, we must know how to read and write. In learning literacy and proficiency, we must be a good listener so that we could gain more knowledge to become more proficient. Literacy is the ability to read and write while proficiency is the advancement of knowledge. We study English for many reasons. We study any language; we need to study this to have a way to articulate the things we need to desire. And in learning English, we must put it in our minds but not only in mind but also in our hearts.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

In our lives we have our own rights and opportunities. And there are limits in using them.  In the place that we are now, we can’t escape to the fact that discrimination is now very rampant. When you’re rich, you’ll get the first and the best service. When you’re poor, well, as usual you’ll stay on the last line. When you have a powerful family, or maybe, an influential one, then, you’ll be treated well. But when you are on the other side, expect the unexpected.

Rights are not only for those who are rich and powerful. We are all humans; we all have the opportunities and so with the Rights. In our generation today, it’s unbelievable to say that we are all equal since we have a wealthy person, we also have poor individual. Humans aren't born racist. We are all born equal. So why it is everyone is bent on believing that one life is less important than another. Why it is person high up in society can get away with something other people can’t? 

God created us all. In his eyes, we are all equal. No one is rich or poor. No one is more powerful than the other. He love males and he love females. We are all God children. So, Let’s Make Equality a Reality! :)

R-E-F-L-E-C-T-I-O-N

               Every time I enter our school, I gained a lot of knowledge which I can apply to my daily life. I also discover different new things. I really don’t know how to start my reflection, but I am just going to share some of my experience or problems that I’ve encountered. The main problem that I have encountered during this grading period is finding time to post on my blogs because there’s so much blogs to post. I thought that this grading period wasn’t bad, but I was wrong. This grading wasn’t easy at all. I think it’s just the time that I should get more serious and strive harder. And I’ve learned a lot of lessons or things. One of that is about the HTML or what do we call Hypertext Mark-up Language. It involved the tags. This lesson is new to us so we get interested to this. I learned that this HTML can help the students enhance their knowledge.

INTRAMURAL'S 2014

          September? Yeah September.... It's not only the month of Science but it's the month of intramurals too. Last September, the Ilocos Sur National High School Intramurals 2014 was held and various activities such as sports and it was conducted during that dates, with the theme "Sustaining Excellence and Teamwork through Sports and Dancing".

          Hearing the word Intramurals, sports comes to my mind. there so many sports, like volleyball, basketball, athletics, chess, and so many more. During our intrams, I just watched live the games like in soccer, basketball, volleyball and sepak takraw too. All players were good. But in all these sports, SENIORS won and I am proud that Senior won, because I am a senior student. :)

          Any people can play any sports, even you are young or old as long as your body can play that game or sports. And through this activity, people can raise their hidden skills and talents through playing sports and dances.

You, my teacher as well as my second mother is the source of all things that runs into my mind.

It all started when I first step into your room and started to fill my mind with different things that I should learn. It is my desire to be with you every day as a friend and willing to listen to my problems and help me to seek a solution to that problem. You exactly like my mother that gives all my needs just only to put something in my mind that I can use to the next 5 years.

I wish someday that there will be a time that you will save me from a possible decimation. I am not perfect as the most perfect person in the world but you are the one who is making and training me to be the perfect one. You clearly stated that I, the one who is making my future, but you, you are the one who is pursuing me to do so. I thank you My Superhero for saving me and being my mother who fulfill my heart and mind with good things.

"Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers With with Healthful Defenses towards National Wellness"

          What is Immunation? Is it important to people? Well, what I know about immunation is something or a substance that is being introduced into the body through injections. Immunation are very important, because it is healthful and useful to people.Through immunation, some diseases are being prevented to occur in people because of immunation. It is healthful because it helps our body to fight infections and most importantly, it is use to protect our health to various diseases.

          Antibiotics, produced by microorganisms substances which can inhibit growth of or kill bacteria, slows or kill off bacterial diseases by blocking specific metabolic pathways within cell. Found in nature, mainly fungi or bacteria, slow down the growth of microorganisms. Enter bacterial cells during their growth and division. Bacteria, different to human cells, antibiotics taken by human to kill bacteria without harming human cells.

          Virus, different as they don't carry out many metabolic processes themselves. Instead they rely on host cell (human) to carry out these processes for them. Virus cannot be treated with antibiotics, as impossible to harm virus without harming human cells. Virus don't have metabolic pathways like bacteria, therefore antibiotics doesn't work on viruses.

          Virus can only be treated by specific anti-microbial agent and antibiotics should never be prescribed for viral infections. Defenses are very important for us.

Insight About Modern Day Hero

TODAY'S HERO

          In today's society, it is hard to know someone that we look up to as a hero. It Takes quality of a person who can look up to or we consider in as a hero.

          For me, the modern heroes that I consider now are the Engineers. Because of them we have beautiful buildings and houses. And also because of them, we have bridges and roads. Engineers are concern with the designs, materials, and structures of a buildings, roads and bridges. Engineering can provide many solutions, not just to the infrastructure that we have,but also to the remodeling of public services. Engineers create a sustainable world that provides a safe, secure, healthy, productive and sustainable life for all people.

          They should have awards or recognition for their service in our country. We should recognize them as a heroes working towards the well being of other people and of course for the development or progress of our country. Without Engineers, our society would not be the way it is today.

Buwan ng Wika 2014

Wika ng Pagkakaisa

Wika, ano ito? Ano ang maitutulong ng wika sa ating bansa?

Ang wika ay isang bahagi ng pakikipagtalastasan. Halip naman ito ng mga simbolo, tunog at mga kaugnayan na batas upang maipahayag ang nais sabihin ng kaisipan. Lahat ng bansa ay gumagamit ng wika bilang isang ango ng pakikipag-usap o pakikipag-komunikasyon. Dito sa ating bansa, tayo ay nagkakaisa dahil sa wika natin. Ang wikang pambansa natin na Filipino ay simbolo ito ng pagkakaunawaan dito sa ating bansa. At kung tayo ay nagkakaunawaan at nagkakaintindihan, tayo ay may pagkakaisa.

Sa pamamagitan ng wika, naipapahayag natin ang ating mga  kaisipan at naipapaliwanag din natin at ito ay nakatutulong upang tayo ay magkaisa at magtutulungan. Yan ang wika, kung wala ang wika, mawawalan ng saysay ang halos lahat ng gawain ng sangkalibutan.

          First quarter of the school year is said to be the stage of getting to know one another again and getting acquainted with the ladder we are on. ISNHS Every time I enter (Ilocos Sur National High School), I Gained knowledge through experience and not only In this quarter our lessons I am learning but also different factors that help me to build myself and enhance my skills. I learn how to be independent and learn to understand our lessons by our own, that's our responsibility when we were not able to attend the discussion. be responsible enough and have a discipline, that's the right thing to do and the only one that will help you.

SONA 2014

"State Of The Nation Address"

          The President of the Philippines are obliged to give this SONA. BUT what is SONA? Zone is a way to inform the public about the status or the State of the Philippines and the accomplishments and promises by the President of the Philippines.

        
          The SONA 2014 highlights, the achievement of the Government on education, social services, economy, improvement of our country, jobs, infrastructure and modernization of | AFP.But he failed to mention about the PDAF or the Priority Development Fund Association with many of the politicians are involved. despite the many achievements and plans of the government, Thousands of protesters marched along the area of SONA. And despite all the allegations and rallies to the President. For me, he's one of the President that is not corrupt. He tried all his best to Become out country a progressive one. We should understand that the President is doing all his best for our country.

Nutrition Month

"Kalamidad Paghandaan; Gutom At Malnutrisyon Agapan"

          We are all aware that our country had gone through several disasters. while malnutrition is one of the problem of our country is facing right now. The theme "Kalamidad Paghandaa, Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan" aims to underscore the necessity of hunger and malnutrition prevention among Filipino's to minimize the impact of calamities and disasters.

          The theme telss us that we have to be prepared as always in times of typhoons or disasters. We have to ensure that we have enough food and proper malnutrition during emergencies. A family should prepare a non-perishable and easy to prepare food items, you have to choose foods that are not easily destroyed.

          What about the Government? what can our Government provide during typhoon and disasters. the Government or the LGU should prepare an essential health services and adequate water supplies and sanitation. and also an evacuation area that is not so crowded. What is important is, we have to be prepared for calamities and disasters to prevent hunger and malnutrition.

                    My name is John Ashley Corpuz. I am a student of Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS) and I am writing you today to share my  thoughts about Poverty in our country.

                   About corruption in the Philippines. Our country is known already as one of the most corrupt country in Asia. because of rampant corruption in our country. it makes the poor people more poor, and the rich one becomes richer. Poverty, I think is one of the effects of corruption in our country. Mr. President, corruption is the gravest threat to the Philippine Democracy and Society today.Corruption is a serious obstacle to the social and economic development of a country. the government taxes should be use for public good not private greed. if the funds or taxes are used for public good, more school buildings were raise, so that insufficient classroom will no longer be a big problem in different public schools.

                   So Mr. President, it is our right to demand real change, action and improvement from those who fake our money from and spend it in our name.
